The 2011 Cans for Kittens & K-9′s program was a roaring success with $40052.00 dollars raised. Over 800,000 cans & bottles were sorted by Corky, Gavin, and our volunteers from the community and NORCOR. We currently have a drive up area at the shelter and 5 can trailers, 4 of which were purchased through grants from our partners at Tri-County Hazardous Waste and Recycling program. Our never ending gratitude goes out to them, all the staff and volunteers, and all the people who donated their bottles and cans, we couldn’t have done it without you!
Our Can Trailers
Our 2012 goal is $50,000. The funds we raise go to fund our community spay/neuter certificate program. In 2011 we helped spay & neuter 172 cats and 251 dogs. With your help we can increase those numbers for 2012!
We have 4 trailers for your convenience to drop your cans and bottles. Just drop your bags through the doggy doors on the sides of the trailers, it’s that easy. Our trailers are at the following locations:
Save-a-Lot Parking Lot, The Dalles, Or
The Port of The Dalles Marina
The British Pub, Hood River, Or
The Tyee Motel, Rufus, Or
Home At Last would like to give our heart felt thanks to Tri-County Hazardous Waste and Recycling program for awarding us a $5000 grant for the 2012 year to purchase and decal two more can trailers! We will keep you updated as to where these new trailers will be located.
